The Mangalitsa pig, often referred to as the “Curly Hair Pig,” originates from Hungary and is widely regarded as the true Rolls-Royce of pork. Its flavor is known throughout the world as some of the best there is.
Mangalitsa pork is prized for its pure white fat, which is a healthy monounsaturated fat. It is naturally high in Omega-3, Omega-6, and Omega-9 fatty acids, Vitamin D, and antioxidants. New studies are showing that diets including Mangalitsa fats may reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other health issues. Mangalitsa lard contains less saturated fat and more unsaturated fat than an equal amount of butter and contains no trans fats, unlike margarine, vegetable shortenings, and hydrogenated fats. Lard has seen a strong comeback in recent years, as chefs realize that no other cooking medium offers the same qualities and flavor.
Baby Mangalitsas are raised on the home farm in Gainesville.
Our goal is to raise meats that are completely untainted by chemicals or hormones. Today’s commercial livestock practices often force large feedlot companies to use unnatural additives to increase growth rates and profits. Many of these practices can be unhealthy for people to consume. Raising meat the natural way is more expensive, but there is nothing more costly than our bodies becoming sick from eating foods that contain poisons. We want to give families the choice of clean and pure meats.
Cashion Homes was contracted to build the new office. The plans were first hand-sketched and then brought to life by Carol Cashion. Construction began in January of 2025 and moved quickly so the building could be occupied by the end of May, which coincided with the end of Bradley’s lease. Although there were a few finishing details remaining, the practice was moved into its new and permanent home.
Growing up, Bradley learned through firsthand experience what it takes to keep the body performing at its peak. His involvement in sports taught him the importance of proper nutrition and fueling the body correctly. Both the medical profession and raising healthy food have always been part of his ongoing goal for optimal health.
